Since we last spoke, Wilderness Champion made its way into the world. I had fun chatting with Emily Coon about the book for the PANK blog. We discussed important things like the craft, dreams, and animals wearing clothes…all of which somehow belong together.
This summer was a summer of firsts. I cooked and ate my way through a CSA share from one of Ithaca’s local farms. (I had some help from Dave and we got up to the farm a few times for some you-pick flowers, tomatoes, and herbs.) I made homemade pickles and even tried some canning, so when winter comes we won’t have to miss the awesome produce too hard.
I also received the happy news that my first chapbook–Here is my adventure I call it alone–will be published by dancing girl press in early 2015. I’ve got a lot of love for the presses that commit to publishing chapbooks, but dancing girl holds a special place in my heart because it was one of my earlier introductions to chapbooks.
Some new poems have appeared in a few publications online, a poem from Wilderness Champion was featured on Verse Daily, and I have a few other things in the works.
Also, I have an office in the apartment that Dave and I moved to this summer. It’s a pretty awesome space.
